(Deion) , what is the story behind this trend in Social Media today?
04-09-2026
The main Deion-related conversation on social media right now is Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes’ dramatic 14-13 season-opening win at Georgia Tech on Thursday night. ajc.comColorado trailed late, scored a go-ahead touchdown with 37 seconds left (Julian Lewis to Charlie Williams), then Boo Carter blocked Georgia Tech’s 45-yard field-goal attempt as time expired. The Buffaloes rushed for 183 yards and Deion has been using the result to push back at preseason skeptics after last year’s 3-9 campaign. cubuffs.comA separate, slightly earlier talking point that still has legs is Deion letting players put their Instagram and X handles on the backs of practice jerseys instead of last names. He has done versions of this before as a branding/NIL move; this week it drew the usual mix of “that’s just Prime being Prime” comments and “clown show / circus” reactions. profootballnetwork.comThose two things (the sloppy-but-resilient win plus the social-media jersey choice) are what’s circulating under “Deion” today.
