05-09-2026
Jeremiah Smith is Ohio State’s star wide receiver and widely viewed as the best player in college football heading into 2026. The social media buzz today is coming from Ohio State’s season opener against Ball State. nbc4i.comSmith scored multiple touchdowns early, including a 48-yard bomb from quarterback Julian Sayin and another score later in the first half. After at least one of them he struck a Heisman pose, which immediately lit up X and highlight clips. People are posting variations of “Heisman already locked in Week 1,” “he plays on easy mode,” and “another Jeremiah Smith TD + Heisman pose.” @wokdiorThat’s the core of the trend: a hyped superstar delivering instantly in a blowout, with a flashy celebration that plays perfectly on social media. Smith entered the year as a Heisman contender and record-chaser (already holding Big Ten marks through two seasons), so even a mismatched opener against Ball State is enough to keep the conversation going.
