Elena Rybakina fought back from a set down to defeat Coco Gauff 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the US Open semi-finals. With this victory, Rybakina advanced to the championship match to face two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka. By reaching the semi-finals, Rybakina also knocked Sabalenka out of the number one world ranking spot.
