• Location & Time: The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of Southeast 12th Street and Brickell Bay Drive.
• The Collapse: The heavy rig toppled from an active construction site across the roadway, striking three vehicles (one moving and two unoccupied parked cars) as well as a steel construction storage container (Conex box).
• Narrow Escape: A woman driving a white BMW SUV saw the massive structure start falling, slammed her vehicle into reverse, and managed to escape out of the back of the car just as the crane crashed onto the front and ignited a fire.
