In their season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos endured a historically bad defensive performance, missing 28 tackles on the night.According to game-tracking data, the Broncos posted a 29.8% missed tackle rateone of the worst single-game marks in recent franchise history, even surpassing the rate from their 70-point loss to Miami in 2023 (25.0%).The tackling breakdowns allowed Kansas City to amass 393 yards of total offense, with running back Kenneth Walker repeatedly breaking into the open field and Chiefs receivers racking up significant yardage after the catch. The breakdown was a primary factor in Kansas City controlling the game and handing Denver an error-filled divisional defeat.
