Federal law enforcement officials announced that an FBI investigation successfully thwarted an imminent mass casualty attack planned by a 21-year-old Pennsylvania man named Jonathan Kramer, who is accused of pledging allegiance to ISIS.
Kramer, a resident of Valencia, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody outside a hotel in Cranberry Township, north of Pittsburgh. According to investigators, he had recorded a pledge of allegiance to the Islamic State, spread propaganda online, and discussed methods for carrying out violence. Law enforcement agents recovered a semi-automatic rifle, approximately 190 rounds of ammunition, a rifle scope, and about 30 knives, along with a note indicating an intent to act. He has been federally charged in connection with acquiring firearms and ammunition intended to facilitate a crime of terrorism.
