(#sbhawks) What is the story behind this trend in Social Media today?
17-09-2026
The hashtag refers to the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, a professional baseball team in Japan’s Pacific League. It has been the team’s official social media tag for years and is used by fans and the organization whenever there is news, highlights, or a big result.Today it is surging because the Hawks clinched their third consecutive league championship. They finished the job on a nine-game winning streak and, in doing so, recorded their first three-peat since relocating to Fukuoka. Fans are celebrating the title, looking back on a season that started slowly before the team found its form around interleague play, and already turning their attention to the postseason and a possible Japan Series repeat. That combination of a historic pennant and immediate fan reaction is what is driving the trend.
