Jakirovic on team news, expectations and international break, tell me about this news in (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c6m278n2z2mpo)

In the BBC Sport report regarding Sergej Jakirović, the Hull City head coach addresses squad updates, expectations, and the upcoming international window:

1. Team News and Squad Condition: Jakirović discussed the physical condition and depth of his squad following a challenging schedule and summer recruitment. While several key players have stepped up during Hull City’s strong early-season run, the team faces squad management challenges due to minor knocks and a significant number of international call-ups that will leave them operating with a smaller group during training.

2. Managing Expectations: Despite Hull City’s impressive, unbeaten start following promotionincluding strong results against major sidesJakirović made a point of keeping expectations grounded. When asked about shifting targets or chasing European qualification, he brushed aside any overblown hype, emphasizing that the primary objective remains securing Premier League safety as quickly as possible (targeting the typical 38 to 40 points mark) rather than getting carried away by early momentum.

3. The International Break: Addressing the upcoming break, Jakirović highlighted the dual nature of the window. While an extended break would normally offer a welcome chance for a newly assembled squad and summer signings to integrate and recover, having multiple players depart for national team duty limits group preparation. The priority over the window is managing workload, keeping the remaining squad sharp, and hoping key players return fully fit and uninjured.
