In an interview with OutKick, Atlanta Falcons star running back Bijan Robinson shared his wish that every NFL team would eventually play indoors inside domed stadiums.
Key details from the story include:
Robinson’s Proposal: Robinson stated, “I wish one day the NFL can make every team indoors. I think that would be sick.” He explained that playing at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta is a major advantage and a blessing because players do not have to battle external weather conditions such as extreme heat, freezing cold, rain, or snow. Under a dome, conditions are consistent, removing weather as an excuse for poor performance.
Addressing Fan Traditions: While acknowledging that traditional football purists and fanbases like Buffalo Bills fans embrace the snow and outdoor culture, Robinson suggested that many attendees would probably prefer not having to shovel snow out of seats and could simply go inside to enjoy the game. He noted: “Hopefully, we’ll see. Maybe in 10 years we could make that happen.”
Stadium Trends: The article points out that while an all-dome league is unlikely, newer NFL stadium projects lean heavily toward domed or enclosed roofs (such as plans or projects for the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, and others), with Buffalo’s new open-air stadium being a rare exception.
Commercial Partnership: Robinson gave these comments while promoting Sonic’s “My Greatest 7” campaign alongside Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, discussing his favorite food orders and the affordability of the meals for families.
