Sheffield dog owner's heartbreak after memorial removed from park, tell me about this news in (https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sheffield-dog-owners-heartbreak-after-34630012)

A Sheffield dog owner named Sarah Parker expressed deep heartbreak after a small memorial dedicated to her beloved spaniel, Misty, was removed from Hillsborough Park. The tribute, featuring a small plaque and flowers, had been placed in a planted area by Sarah, who noted that Misty used to visit the park every day.

Sheffield City Council removed the items after explaining that some pieces had scattered across a pathway, creating a safety hazard. The council stated that personalized memorials are strictly restricted to designated memorial benches or tree schemes to ensure parks remain accessible and well-maintained. Following social media support, Sarah has since called on the council to consider creating a small remembrance garden, arguing that memorial benches are not financially accessible for everyone.
