High Court judge Justice Riyaz Hamza noted that while Kari had previous juvenile offenses (meaning he could not be treated as a strict first offender), his cooperation with police, remorse, rehabilitation efforts, and high chances of rehabilitation worked in his favor. Consequently, the judge ordered that the final sentence be suspended for eight years. Kari was given 30 days to appeal the decision to the Court of Appeal.
