The controversy surrounding rapper Macklemore being removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour has taken a turn toward humanitarian cooperation and donations.

The drama began when Macklemore was ousted from his supporting role on Ed Sheeran’s tour following pro-Palestinian comments and statements made onstage. Billionaire stadium owner and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly played a key role in the decision to remove Macklemore, citing concerns over a history of antisemitic rhetoric and imagery, which subsequently triggered backlash and the resignation of other opening acts from Sheeran’s tour.

In response, Macklemore announced he would donate the entirety of his $1 million net earnings from the tour to six organizations supporting Palestinian people, and publicly challenged Robert Kraft to match the donation.

Following the challenge, Robert Kraft revealed that Ed Sheeran had already reached out to him earlier to request a $2 million commitment to aid the region and combat the humanitarian crisis. Kraft stated that he and Sheeran are pledging funds to aid in the crisis, with Sheeran planning to reach out to other venue owners to generate broader humanitarian support and work together to build bridges.
