The United States has imposed a new round of sanctions targeting Cuba’s nickel industry and military network. Announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the measures target 11 entities and individuals, including four state-run enterprises linked to nickel, four military research and development companies, and three military officials. Washington stated that these entities channel mineral revenues and resources into the government’s security apparatus rather than benefiting ordinary citizens, who continue to face severe economic strains, fuel shortages, and daily power outages.
