A woman from South Shields in North East England won a life-changing £1,000,000 prize on the National Lottery after playing her family birthday numbers every week.

Key Details of the Win

• The Draw: She matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball during the second round of The National Lottery Lotto draw on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

• The Routine: She has faithfully entered the lottery each week using birthday dates, having never won any significant amount prior to this draw.

• The New Format: Her win was made possible by the Lotto’s newly introduced second-draw format, which creates additional millionaires; she would not have won under the previous system.
