A 7-year-old girl named Ngone Talla died while riding a school bus home in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was a student with special needs at Roselawn Condon School, was nonverbal, used a wheelchair, and lived with cerebral palsy along with an extensive medical history.
When the bus arrived at her home, her family discovered she was unresponsive in her wheelchair. First responders were called, but she could not be revived.
The Hamilton County Coroner, Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco, reported that there were no signs of traumatic injury and indicated that the death appeared natural, though the official cause remains under investigation. While some reports raised questions regarding whether she became entangled or stuck in a seatbelt, officials have not determined that to be the cause.
The Cincinnati Police Department launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The bus transportation company, First Student, stated they are cooperating fully with law enforcement, and Cincinnati Public Schools deployed crisis response teams to Roselawn Condon School to support students and staff.
