According to the CBS News report, President Trump announced on Truth Social that he is banning CNN, Politico, and MS NOW from the White House “effective immediately.”
Key details from the reporting include:
Trump’s Statement: Trump accused the three outlets of continually reporting “fiction and lies” and labeled them “Fake News.” He stated that media organizations should not be allowed to report such material about the administration and warned that other outlets would follow.
Legal Implications: The ban is widely expected to face First Amendment legal challenges regarding press access and constitutional protections.
Preceding Actions: The report highlights that this follows previous administration efforts to restrict press access, including earlier disputes such as attempting to bar the Associated Press over its editorial choices, which led to an ongoing federal court battle.
