Former North Carolina Governor and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Roy Cooper campaigned in Charlotte as part of his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, focusing heavily on rising inflation and the cost of living. During his campaign stop, Cooper outlined several proposals aimed at lowering everyday expenses for families, such as rolling back tariffs, lowering healthcare costs, strengthening antitrust enforcement in the grocery industry, and holding utility companies accountable. He also highlighted his bipartisan record as governor regarding economic development and job creation, contrasting his focus on affordability in Washington with his Republican opponent, Michael Whatley.
