In mid-September 2026, the Union of the Comoros hosted the national launch of the regional RESIslands project. Backed by approximately $4.94 million over 30 months and funded by the Green Climate Fund, the initiative aims to strengthen climate risk assessment capacities, improve early warning systems, and facilitate access to international climate finance for Comoros and other participating island states.
