During the San Francisco 49ers’ Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphinsa 35–13 blowout victory for the 49erswide receiver Demarcus Robinson was forced out of the game in the second quarter after suffering a right ankle injury.
Following a 20-yard reception across the middle of the field, Robinson came up limping and was unable to put weight on his right foot after rolling his ankle on a non-contact route. After limping off the field, he was initially evaluated in the sideline medical tent before being loaded onto a cart and taken back to the locker room.
Robinson was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the contest, pending further medical imaging and evaluations to determine the full severity of the injury. The setback thins out the 49ers’ wide receiver depth even further amid an already banged-up offensive unit.
