(#CALI) What is the story behind this trend in Social Media today?
21-09-2026
The hashtag refers to a recently launched Solana memecoin themed around a small shelter puppy named Cali that Maye Musk adopted earlier in the year. She shared photos and stories of the energetic terrier settling in at home, playing with another family dog’s toys, and generally bringing lively chaos. Crypto communities quickly turned the story into a token, marketing it as a cultural meme rather than a utility project and directing a portion of trading fees toward her. The coin began circulating in mid-September, saw sharp volume spikes and price swings over the following days, and continues to appear in trading chatter and motivational posts today. Separate from that, the same four letters also surface as shorthand for California, the Colombian city of Cali, dance videos, and various brand or ticker uses, but the puppy-token narrative is the fresh, fast-moving story driving the hashtag in crypto-adjacent social media right now.
