According to reporting on the incident, law enforcement officers and North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 64 near the U.S. 264 split near Zebulon in eastern Wake County.

A pickup truck veered off the roadway and crashed directly into the adjacent tree line and woods, resulting in the vehicle overturning and sustaining heavy damage. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to evaluate the driver and clear the area.

Following an investigation by state troopers, the driver was determined to have been impaired and was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired (DWI), alongside related traffic offenses. No other vehicles were involved.
