(#manisa) What is the story behind this trend in Social Media today?
22-09-2026
The hashtag is trending because of a shooting that took place this morning outside a vocational high school in the Turgutlu district of Manisa. Around eight o’clock a fifteen-year-old student arrived at the school wearing his uniform, loaded a shotgun and fired into a group of fellow pupils. At least eight to ten people, most of them students, were wounded; two of the injuries are described as serious. The shooter fled on foot but was caught within minutes.Investigators say the attack grew out of a personal quarrel the day before, apparently involving a girl. There is no indication of any wider political or terrorist motive. Classes at the school were suspended and parents gathered at the scene. The incident has intensified an already heated national conversation about school security after two earlier shootings in other provinces this year.
