On Wednesday morning, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 293 in Manchester, New Hampshire, resulting in a truck breaking through the guardrail and plunging off a bridge into the Merrimack River.

Aerial footage from WBZ-TV showed first responders on the bridge as well as operating rescue boats on the water, where the truck remained mostly submerged. At least two other damaged vehicles were seen being towed from the scene.

New Hampshire State Police closed I-293 near Exit 2 while investigators worked at the site, warning drivers of significant traffic delays and urging the public to avoid the area. Northbound traffic was restricted, with only a single lane moving slowly past the scene. The cause of the crash and the condition or injuries of those involved were not immediately known.
