A 39-year-old Philadelphia man, William Leftenent, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 10 years, for a fatal double shooting at a metro Atlanta extended-stay motel.

A DeKalb County jury found Leftenent guilty of two counts of malice murder, four counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and weapons charges for the 2024 killings of Lamar Pringle, 32, and Mariana Greene, 35.

According to police and prosecutors:

  • The shooting took place on the morning of May 28, 2024, at an extended-stay motel located on Flat Shoals Parkway in DeKalb County.

  • Arriving officers discovered Mariana Greene dead on the first floor of a motel room with a gunshot wound to her chest. Lamar Pringle had been shot in the back and was driven to Grady Memorial Hospital by friends, where he later died from his injuries.

  • Witnesses reported that a man known as “Philly” had argued with someone in the motel room, briefly walked away, returned, and opened fire. Surveillance footage captured him firing three rounds into the room before fleeing.

  • Investigators identified “Philly” as Leftenent through surveillance footage and a prior police report. He was subsequently arrested by law enforcement in Orlando, Florida, on March 19, 2025.

  • A DeKalb County judge handed down the life sentence without parole the day following the verdict.
