At Chitkara University, a massive student protest erupted on campus following unverified social media rumors and videos concerning the alleged suicide or disappearance of female students and claims regarding paranormal activity or ghost sightings in the hostel. Thousands of students gathered late at night, raising concerns, demanding clarity, and questioning university authorities about ambulances and campus security footage. University administration and local police officials have stepped in, explicitly dismissing the claims as completely false rumors and urging students to remain calm while investigations into the source of the misinformation are conducted.
