The growing acceptance of cremation is creating new business and investment opportunities within Cebu’s memorial property market. Younger buyers, particularly millennials, are increasingly viewing memorial spaces as viable long-term investments.

To meet this shifting demand, developers are introducing new projects, such as a P150 million columbarium project in Cebu City. This one-hectare memorial estate is planned to accommodate up to 20,000 vaults. According to Cebu Seven Fields Realty Inc., nearly 20 percent of the project’s inventory has already been sold, with millennials making up a significant share of the buyers.
