A man was shot and killed in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood in Chicago after being targeted while standing outside his vehicle. According to police, the incident began when someone inside a black sedan opened fire on the victim in the 7500 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue. The man got into his car and attempted to drive away while the suspect continued shooting at him in pursuit. During the chase, the victim crashed into a utility pole near the 7400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not made any arrests, and Area Two detectives are actively investigating the shooting.
