Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane was ruled out of the Week 3 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs after sustaining a knee injury during the team’s opening drive.

Achane suffered the injury on Miami’s first possession following an awkward plant and tackle after a catch-and-run play. After staying down on the turf, he was able to walk slowly off the field under his own power without requiring a cart. He was evaluated inside the medical tent before heading back to the locker room.

Although the Dolphins initially designated him as questionable to return, the team officially ruled him out for the remainder of the contest shortly thereafter, leaving Miami’s backfield duties to Ollie Gordon and the rest of the running back rotation.
