South Carolina Gamecocks edge rusher Dylan Stewart, widely projected as a top-10 prospect in early 2027 NFL mock drafts, has received an indefinite suspension following an outburst during South Carolina’s 49-14 defeat against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
During the game, Stewart was ejected after punching the helmet of Alabama tight end Josh Ford and subsequently getting into an argument with coaches on the sideline. Head coach Shane Beamer announced the indefinite disciplinary action, confirming that Stewart is ruled out for their upcoming matchup against Kentucky. Beamer noted that while the punch itself was unacceptable, the decision was driven by the broader sideline conduct and a failure to meet the program’s standards of accountability. It remains uncertain when or if Stewart will return to play this season.
