Here is a breakdown of the key points from the OutKick / Fox News article regarding Game 1 between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces:
Game Overview and ResultThe Las Vegas Aces dominated the Indiana Fever in a 102–85 rout during Game 1 of their best-of-three first-round playoff series at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. The Aces controlled the tempo right from the tip, building a lead as large as 27 points and leaving Indiana struggling to keep pace for most of the second half.
Key Individual PerformancesA’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces): Delivered a commanding, dominant performance on both ends of the court, finishing with 38 points and 16 rebounds to lead Las Vegas.
Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever): Recorded a double-double with 15 points, 10 assists, and 3 rebounds, but struggled against the Aces’ aggressive physical defense, shooting 6-of-18 from the floor while committing 6 turnovers and picking up 5 fouls.
Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever): Faced similar defensive pressure and offensive difficulty, scoring 12 points and 3 assists on 4-of-16 shooting.
Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever): Led Indiana in scoring with 18 points, along with 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
Sophie Cunningham (Indiana Fever): Contributed 13 points off the bench, including three 3-pointers, providing an offensive spark that was ultimately not enough to mount a comeback.
Coming off a 20-point loss in their regular-season finale against the Minnesota Lynx, the Fever entered the postseason with little momentum and were unable to counter the physical playoff defense, traps, and double teams deployed by Las Vegas.
The series heads to Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Game 2, where the Fever face an elimination scenario and must win on their home court to force a decisive Game 3.
