A water main break occurred in Boston’s Chinatown neighborhood, disrupting water service and causing localized flooding and street closures.
Crews from the Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC) were dispatched to isolate the damaged section of the main, shut off the leak, and conduct emergency repairs. Following the repair work, water service was successfully restored to impacted residents and businesses in the area.
Officials noted that normal traffic flow was gradually restored as road cleanup and surface repairs progressed. As is typical following water main breaks and subsequent restoration, residents may experience temporary water discoloration or pressure variations, which can usually be cleared by running cold water taps for several minutes until the water runs clear.
