EnerSyn Global Inc., formerly known as HWH International Inc., has announced its second energy investment in Nigeria through its pending acquisition of Hearty Nova Limited, which owns a 51% stake in China Gas Africa Clean Energy Investment Holdings Limited (CGA). CGA is a joint venture with China Gas Holdings Limited and is planning to construct a compressed natural gas (CNG) mother station in Lagos, Nigeria.
Key details of the project include:
Project Scope and Term: Planned under a 15-year cooperation term, the Lagos CNG mother station will serve as a flagship pilot project for West Africa, carrying out wholesale distribution of compressed natural gas, dedicated industrial point-to-point supply, and refueling for long-haul heavy-duty trucks.
Capacity and Sales Volume: The facility is designed with a processing capacity of 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd). Its designed annual gas sales volume is expected to reach approximately 46.2 million cubic meters, averaging a daily supply of about 140,000 cubic meters.
Investment and Financial Projections: The total investment is estimated at $4 million, with an anticipated construction period of around eight months. Projections estimate an internal rate of return exceeding 35% and a discounted payback period of roughly three years under favorable operating conditions.
Funding and Ownership Structure: Hearty Nova will contribute $0.51 million and China Gas will contribute $0.49 million, with the remaining balance to be covered by bank borrowings. Gas feedstock will be supplied by a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. CGA will hold a 70% participation interest, while a local partner will hold the remaining 30%.
Strategic Impact: This project represents CGA’s second energy venture in Nigeria alongside an ongoing flare gas recovery and utilization project, formally establishing the company’s entry into the West African market to capitalize on regional industrial and energy substitution demands.
