Bhutan has made several major announcements and achievements:

• Adoption of Gross Ecosystem Product (GEP): Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay announced at the UN General Assembly sidelines in New York that Bhutan has officially become the first country in the world to adopt Gross Ecosystem Product at a national level. Bhutan’s GEP for 2024 was calculated at USD 6.2 billion, roughly twice the size of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
