President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit North Texas on Thursday to tour the Peterbilt Motors facility in Denton. The visit is part of a pre-midterm travel push aimed at promoting his administration’s economic agenda, highlighting the resurgence of American manufacturing, and showcasing policies like tax reductions, deregulation, and heavy truck tariffs.

Proponents and local officials argue that these pro-growth policies and tariffs have spurred new investments, boosted domestic job gains, and helped bring manufacturing back home. Meanwhile, critics, including the Texas Democrats, have pushed back on the visit, claiming that the administration’s economic and tariff policies are driving up prices for struggling families.
