Caleb Flynn, a former “American Idol” contestant and music pastor from Ohio, was found guilty on all nine countsincluding aggravated murderin connection with the February shooting death of his 37-year-old wife, Ashley Flynn.

Following the killing, Flynn had called 911 claiming that his wife was the victim of a home invasion and burglary, but investigators and prosecutors exposed that he had staged the scene. The state presented extensive evidence during the trial revealing that Flynn was engaged in a long-term affair with a fellow worship leader, Alleigha Botner, and had exchanged numerous incriminating text messages detailing his desires and plans to kill his wife so he could be with his mistress.
