The Fox News report covers an incident aboard FlyDubai Flight FZ1073 en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
During the flight, the co-pilot attacked and stabbed the captain inside the cockpit in an apparent attempt to take control and crash the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which had over 170 passengers on board.
The struggle caused the plane to suddenly plunge, triggering severe panic in the cabin. Hearing the chaos and distress calls from the flight deck, several passengers and crew members rushed the cockpit, intervened, and successfully overpowered and restrained the co-pilot.
The injured captain managed to regain control and stabilize the aircraft, executing an emergency diversion to Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely. Saudi authorities took the co-pilot into custody for interrogation, medical teams treated the captain’s injuries, and passengers were later flown safely onward to Israel. Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst reported on the onboard heroism and the emergency medical and security response that handled the passengers once the aircraft touched down.
