Severe weather conditions grounded his travel plans, forcing his team to rule out both helicopters and airplanes to get from an earlier event in Denton, Texas, across state lines to Oklahoma. Faced with the choice of canceling or driving, Trump opted for an emergency road trip covering roughly 85 miles.

The motorcade traveled at breakneck speeds, reportedly touching nearly 100 mph (160 km/h) to beat the clock. While en route, Trump posted on social media that his presidential limousine, “The Beast,” was traveling “faster than it has ever gone before,” updating waiting supporters that he was only minutes away. Upon taking the stage, he shared the story with the crowd, explaining the rush against the weather and thanking attendees for their patience and loyalty.
