1. New UK and European Launch: Carlsberg Britvic officially announced and launched Mountain Dew Pitch Black in the UK, initially through Booker wholesale before rolling out nationwide. It has also seen fresh releases across several European markets (including Poland, Hungary, and Romania).

2. Cult Following & Nostalgia: First introduced as a Halloween limited edition in 2004, the citrus-black grape flavor has a dedicated fanbase. Its sporadic disappearances and brief revivals (like the 2016 “DEWcision” and the 2023 limited run) have turned every restock or regional launch into a major viral topic among soda enthusiasts and collectors.

3. Seasonal Association: Because of its dark purple color and Halloween origins, online discussions and demand around Pitch Black consistently spike at this time of year.
