(dodgers) Why is this trending now
04-10-2026
The Los Angeles Dodgers are trending right now because they are kicking off their 2026 postseason run in Game 1 of the National League Division Series (NLDS) against the Atlanta Braves.
Key reasons driving the buzz:
NLDS Game 1 & Playoff Opener: After winning 100 games and earning a first-round bye, the Dodgers are hosting the Braves at Dodger Stadium in the opening clash of the division series.
The Starting Pitcher Decision: Manager Dave Roberts made headlines by handing the Game 1 start to trade-deadline acquisition Tarik Skubal instead of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, a matchup-based move that sparked heavy debate among baseball analysts and fans.
CBS SportsPursuit of an MLB Three-Peat: Having captured the World Series titles in 2024 and 2025, the Dodgers have entered the postseason chasing the first World Series three-peat since the 1998–2000 New York Yankees.
Key Player Health: Heavy attention has centered around superstar Shohei Ohtani returning to full playoff action alongside Freddie Freeman after nursing late-season bumps and bruises.
