Ilya Sorokin stopped every shot he faced to earn his 30th career NHL shutout as the New York Islanders routed the New Jersey Devils 6-0.
Key details of the matchup:
Goaltending Milestone: Sorokin’s performance marks his 30th career regular-season shutout, continuing his pace as one of the fastest active goaltenders to hit that milestone.
Offensive Explosion: The Islanders generated offense early and often, scoring six unanswered goals across a dominant three periods to put the game completely out of reach.
Special Teams & Defense: New York maintained tight defensive structure in front of Sorokin, shutting down New Jersey’s top scorers on the rush and killing off penalties cleanly.
Devils’ Struggles: New Jersey struggled to generate sustained pressure in the offensive zone, had difficulty answering New York’s physical forecheck, and had to pull or rotate netminders as the deficit widened.
