Sophie Rain Claps Back at Pete Davidson After His $40 Million Influencer Dig: “Yes, I Am the Girl Who Made $40 Million in a Year for Doing Nothing”, tell me about this news today

Pete Davidson recently took aim at social media influencers and OnlyFans creators during an interview, expressing bewilderment and frustration over how much money some top creators pull in. In his rant, he vented about seeing girls simply talking to themselves online, saying: “Who the f–k are you? What do you do? Nothing. They make USD 40 million a year… what? And then I’m like, ‘The world’s broken.'”

Because 20-something creator Sophie Rain previously went viral after revealing she brought in over $43 million in a single year on OnlyFans, the specific mention of “$40 million” immediately made it clear to her and online fans that the jab was pointed straight at her.

Sophie Rain fired back directly:

• Embracing the label with sarcasm: She leaned into the criticism head-on, sarcastically declaring, “Yes, I am the girl who made $40 million in a year for doing nothing,” turning his critique into a badge of financial success.

• Calling out the “cowardly” shade: Speaking to the media, she called Davidson out for not naming her directly, saying if he was going to complain about women making millions online, he should have tagged her instead of being passive.

• Defending digital creator work: She dismissed his take as lazy, noting that building an audience, constantly filming, editing, marketing, and managing an online brand is a full-scale business. As she put it, “He literally joked about starting an OnlyFans himself, so clearly he understands there’s money in it. But if you think people are making millions by accident, you probably don’t understand the business very well.”

The back-and-forth quickly sparked debate online across social media, dividing people between Davidson’s commentary on distorted creator-economy pay scales and supporters defending Rain’s entrepreneurship and marketing acumen.
