The programming shift sparked public criticism from several prominent comedians, including Margaret Cho and Michelle Wolf, who voiced frustration over reduced airtime and fewer opportunities for emerging performers. The topic surged into trending discussions after SiriusXM publicly defended Maniscalco and the network’s executive decision, stating the move represents an evolution of their comedy lineup rather than a slight to the broader stand-up community.
