Starting at center for the Sixers, Hukporti went down with a non-contact right lower-leg injury just five minutes into the first quarter while defending Karl-Anthony Towns. He had to be helped off the court and did not return to the game. Sixers head coach Nick Nurse later confirmed that Hukporti would undergo an MRI to assess a potential right Achilles injury. The non-contact nature of the incidentcombined with Hukporti’s past history of an Achilles tearhas sparked significant concern across the NBA community.
