Former Parker Police Sergeant Troy Brienzo was sentenced in Douglas County District Court to 90 days in jail and four years of probation after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual conduct by a peace officer and first-degree official misconduct.
FacebookThe charges stemmed from misconduct involving two adult victims participating in an exploratory law enforcement career program. An arrest affidavit detailed that Brienzo groped one victim under the guise of conducting “mock pat downs” in a secluded area of the police station and warned her not to tell anyone. During the subsequent investigation, another participant reported having sexual encounters with Brienzo, including in his marked patrol vehicle.
9News+ 2The Parker Police Department was first notified of the allegations in January 2026, placed Brienzo on administrative leave, and referred the case to outside investigators. Brienzo resigned from the department in February 2026 before being formally indicted by a grand jury in April and entering a guilty plea later in August.
