Trump wants to make his West Palm Beach golf club a permanent presidential retreat, tell me about this news today

Donald Trump announced a proposal to convert a portion of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, into a permanent presidential retreat modeled after Camp David for all future U.S. presidents. During an Oval Office press conference, Trump stated that the idea was suggested by both the military and the Secret Service due to the property’s high security features, proximity to law enforcement, lack of looming high-rise buildings or bordering houses, and its location just minutes away from the nearby international airport. White House officials and legal representatives for the property have highlighted that the venue offers the privacy, safety, and amenities necessary for a modern presidential getaway and official meetings, contrasting with traditional mountain retreats like Camp David. Local Palm Beach County officials are currently reviewing the proposal, coordinating with the General Services Administration to evaluate the site, while discussions continue regarding the project’s development and operational framework.
