I’ll look up what’s driving the Nana Patekar mentions on social media today.Reports are circulating that he has died; I’m checking the details behind those posts. The trend around Nana Patekar today is driven by widespread reports of his death.According to multiple Indian news outlets published on the morning of 8 October 2026, the veteran actor was found unconscious at his home in Dona Paula, Goa, after severe chest pain. A medical team reached the flat, gave him cardiac massage on the spot, and took him to a private hospital. Doctors continued resuscitation for about 45 minutes, but he remained unresponsive and was declared dead at 5:20 a.m. A doctor associated with the hospital has been quoted saying continuous CPR failed to revive him, that a medico-legal case was registered, and that a post-mortem would be done to confirm the cause. Early versions of some reports noted that fuller official confirmation was still awaited; later updates treated the death as reported fact and mentioned tributes from the industry.Nana Patekar (born Vishwanath Patekar) was 75. He began in films with Gaman in 1978, broke through with roles in films such as Ankush, Parinda and Krantiveer, and became known for intense, often fiery performances in both Hindi and Marathi cinema. He won three National Film Awards and received the Padma Shri in 2013. Audiences also knew him from comic turns such as Uday Shetty in Welcome. Recent credits cited in the reports include Housefull 5, Vanvaas, O’Romeo and Subedaar.Separate, older social-media claims about him (including a death rumour fact-checked months earlier, and an AI-image story about a grandson) are not what is driving the current spike. The posts and searches today are mainly reactions to this breaking death report.
