Tony Romo Disqualified from Korn Ferry Tour Pre-Qualifier Following CBS Sports Exit
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and NFL broadcaster Tony Romo faced another setback after being disqualified from a Korn Ferry Tour pre-qualifier event at The Club at Forest Ridge in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
YardbarkerThe disqualification occurred due to a scorecard error during the third round of play. After rounds of 76 and 75, Romo shot a 74 on Friday, but his playing group was put on the clock for slow play. In the rush to complete scoring procedures, Romo inadvertently signed for lower scores than he actually recorded on holes 16 and 17signing for 4s instead of bogey 5s. Under golf rules, signing an incorrect scorecard with a lower score results in automatic disqualification. PGA Tour rules officials confirmed Romo fully accepted responsibility for the oversight.
Yardbarker+ 4This athletic disappointment compounds a difficult stretch for Romo, who recently parted ways with CBS Sports following a nine-year tenure as the network’s lead NFL color analyst alongside Jim Nantz. The network mutually severed ties with Romo following his July arrest and subsequent plea in Wisconsin on operating while intoxicated (OWI) charges, with J.J. Watt taking over the top broadcast booth for the remainder of the 2026 NFL season. Romo announced that he plans to step away and take an extended break to focus on his health and family.
