Geography and Climate
The country consists of two main landmasses:
Trinidad: The larger, more industrial island featuring diverse topography, including the Northern Range, agricultural plains, and Pitch Lake (the world’s largest natural asphalt deposit).
Tobago: The smaller sister island situated approximately 30 kilometers northeast of Trinidad, characterized by white sand beaches, coral reefs, and the protected Main Ridge Forest Reserve.
The climate is tropical, with two primary annual seasons: a dry season typically lasting from January to May, and a wet season from June to December. Because of its southern position, the archipelago generally lies outside the main Caribbean hurricane belt.
