Kid Rock has confirmed that fellow Detroit rap icon Eminem will feature on his upcoming faith-based album, Halfway 2 Jesus, marking the duo’s first official musical reunion in over two decades.

While the announcement initially sparked skepticism across social mediawith many listeners questioning whether the tracklist leak was authenticrepresentatives for Eminem confirmed the legitimacy of the appearance.

The track represents their first recorded work together since Eminem was featured on “Fuck Off,” a cut from Kid Rock’s breakout 1998 multi-platinum album Devil Without a Cause.

Setting Politics Aside: Kid Rock’s Explanation

In the foreword to Halfway 2 Jesus, Kid Rock directly addressed the reunion, emphasizing that personal history and mutual respect outweighed their divergent political ideologies:

“I’m proud of the guests who joined me, especially my old friend Eminem. His verse speaks to something we’ve talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but we’ve stayed friends through it all… We hope that sets an example for people who’ve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently.”

Both artists emerged from the late-1990s Detroit underground hip-hop circuit, maintaining a relationship that has endured despite sharply contrasting public profiles in recent years.
