UMak President Appointed Chairman of the World University Network of Innovators

University of Makati (UMak) President Dr. Elyxzur Ramos has been named Chairman of the World University Network of Innovators (WUNI) for Presidents, marking a major milestone for Philippine higher education on the global stage.

Elevating Global Academic Leadership and Innovation

The World University Network of Innovators serves as an international consortium connecting academic leaders, researchers, and higher education institutions dedicated to real-world innovation, transformative pedagogy, and societal impact. Dr. Ramos’s appointment to lead WUNI highlights UMak’s expanding influence in global academic benchmarking, notably within frameworks such as the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).

Strategic Goals and Collaborative Impact

As Chairman, Dr. Ramos is set to spearhead initiatives focused on:

• Fostering Cross-Border Collaboration: Building strategic alliances between international universities to share impactful educational models and research methodologies.

• Driving Applied Innovation: Championing entrepreneurial and community-centered higher education programs that address United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

• Strengthening Institutional Excellence: Assisting global and local institutions in measuring outcomes through innovation metrics rather than traditional prestige metrics.

Under Dr. Ramos’s leadership, the University of Makati continues to advance its reputation beyond a premier local university into an internationally recognized hub for educational innovation and future-ready academic training.
